    Member of the NERC Peer Review College (since 06.2008), the Scientific Steering Committee of SOLAS (Surface Ocean and Lower Atmosphere Studies, since 01.2008) and of the UK IGBP National Committee (since 01.2008), as well as co-chair of the SOLAS/IGAC task "Halogens in the Troposphere" (HitT, since 2005) and associate editor of the international journal Atmos. Chem. Phys. (2006-2010).

    Co-chair of IGBP fast track initiative "Megacities and the coastal zone: air-sea interactions", member of COST Action 735 "Tools for Assessing Global Air-Sea Fluxes of Climate and Air Pollution Relevant Gases". (since 09.2007) and of COST Action ES0802 "Unmanned aerial systems (UAS) in atmospheric research" (since 02.2009).

    Research Interests:   

    Chemistry and physics and the atmosphere with a focus on tropospheric halogen chemistry, chemistry-cloud-climate interactions and multiphase chemistry (gas, aerosol, cloud droplets).

    My research covers the marine boundary layer, polar regions, salt lakes, volcanic plumes, ship plumes and the free troposphere.
