March 1998-present; Director, Dept. for Regional and Global Pollution issues; Research and personal management (~16 employees)( www.nilu.no)

March 2001-present; Head of the EMEP Chemical Coordinating Center (www.emep.int). 

1992 – present; Scientist, Norwegian Institute for Air Research. Monitoring and Evaluation of Long Range Transported Air Pollutants. Responsible for the Norwegian monitoring activities on precipitation chemistry, sulphur and nitrogen components in air, and surface ozone.

1986-1992; Diving Instructor and Professional Diver, certified by the Norwegian Oil Department for diving on the Norwegian continental shelf. Diver in the Royal Norwegian Navy (Explosive Ordonance Disposal Unit).

Author or co-author of more than 130 scientific reports, about 30 papers in peer reviewed literature.

Title of Dr. Science thesis; The atmospheric chemistry and deposition of major inorganic compounds in rural areas of Norway.
